NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026 – Online Applications Open for UG, PG & Ph.D. Admissions

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the NIFT Entrance Examination – NIFTEE 2026 for admissions into Undergraduate (B.Des, B.F.Tech), Postgraduate (M.Des, MFM, M.F.Tech) and Ph.D. Programmes at the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
The entrance exam will be held on 8 February 2026 across 100 exam cities in India.
Eligible candidates can apply online from 8 December 2025 to 6 January 2026 at the official portal.

• Last Date to Apply: 6 January 2026
• Apply with Late Fee (₹5000): 7–10 January 2026
• Application Correction: 12–14 January 2026
• Entrance Examination (UG/PG): 8 February 2026
• City Intimation / Admit Card: To be announced
• Result Declaration: To be announced

🎂 Age Limit

For UG Programmes (B.Des/B.F.Tech)

• Maximum age: Less than 24 years as on 1 August 2026
• 5 years relaxation for SC / ST / PwD

For PG & Ph.D.

• No age limit

• B.Des: Fashion Design, Textile Design, Accessory Design, Knitwear Design, Leather Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Interiors
• B.F.Tech: Apparel Production

Postgraduate Programmes

• M.Des, MFM, M.F.Tech

Ph.D. Programmes

• Full-time and Part-time in Design, Management & Technology streams

🎓 Educational Qualifications

For B.Des

• 10+2 from any recognized board
  OR
• Senior Secondary (NIOS – 5 subjects)
  OR
• 3 or 4-year diploma from AICTE/State Board
  OR
• GCE A-Level / IB / equivalent

For B.F.Tech

• 10+2 with Mathematics
  OR
• 3–4 year Engineering Diploma

For PG Programmes

• M.Des / MFM: Any UG degree OR 3-year Diploma from NIFT/NID
• M.F.Tech: B.F.Tech or B.E./B.Tech

For Ph.D.

• Master’s degree with required CGPA/percentage
  OR
• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years’ industry/teaching experience

For B.Des

• GAT (CBT) – 2 hours
• CAT (PBT) – 3 hours
• Situation Test for shortlisted candidates

For B.F.Tech

• GAT (CBT) – 3 hours

For PG Courses

• M.Des: GAT + CAT + Personal Interview
• MFM: GAT + Personal Interview
• M.F.Tech: GAT + Personal Interview

For Ph.D.

• Written Test:
• Set I (MCQ): Research Aptitude, Communication Skills, Logical Reasoning
• Set II (Descriptive): Research Disposition

🏛 Reservation Policy

• SC – 15%
• ST – 7.5%
• OBC-NCL – 27%
• GEN-EWS – 10%
• PwD – 5% (Horizontal)

Valid caste/ category certificates are mandatory. Otherwise, the candidate will be treated under General Category.

1.   Visit https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/

2.   Register → Generate Application Number

3.   Fill Application Form (personal, academic, programme selection, exam city)

4.   Upload required documents:

o    Photograph (10–200 kb, 80% face visible)

o    Signature (10–30 kb)

o    ID proof / PwD certificate (if applicable)

5.   Pay the Application Fee via Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI

6.   Download and print the Confirmation Page
