CSIR–Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur (Himachal Pradesh), an institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), has released Offline Recruitment Notification No. 16/2025 for Technical Assistant & Technician (1) posts.
Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for direct recruitment. The application form must reach the institute on or before the last date.

• Widows/Divorced/Judicially Separated Women: Up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST)

1️⃣ Technical Assistant (Level-6)

General Qualification Requirement:
B.Sc. (Relevant Subject) with 60% marks + 1 year experience
OR
3-year Diploma with 60% marks + 2 years relevant experience

Post-wise Eligibility

T1625001 – Tea Farm Management

• B.Sc. in Agriculture / Horticulture / Forestry + 1 year experience
  OR

• Diploma in Farm/Crop Management (3 years) + 2 years experience

T1625002 – Regulatory Facility

• B.Sc. (Biological Sciences/Biology) + 1 year experience in cell culture
  OR

• B.Sc. with 1 year professional qualification in cell handling

T1625003 – Analytical Chemistry

• B.Sc. (Chemical Science/Analytical Chemistry/Chemical Engg/Biochemical Science) + 1 year experience
  OR

• B.Sc. with 1 year professional qualification in relevant area

T1625004 – Soil Science

• B.Sc. Agriculture/Horticulture + 1 year soil testing experience
  OR

• Diploma in Soil Fertility/Soil Analysis (3 years) + 2 years experience

2️⃣ Technician (1) (Level-2)

General Qualification Requirement:
10th/SSC with 55% marks + ITI / Trade Certificate / Apprentice Training / 3 Years Experience

T1625005 – Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant)

• SSC with Science + ITI / Trade Certificate
  OR

• SSC + 2 years apprentice training
  OR

• SSC + 3 years experience in Chemical Plant Lab

T1625006 – Agriculture

• SSC with Science + ITI in Agriculture/Horticulture/Soil Testing
  OR

• SSC + 2 years apprentice
  OR

• SSC + 3 years experience in relevant field

T1625007 – Photography

• SSC with Science + ITI/Trade Certificate in Photography/Videography/Visual Arts etc.
  OR

• SSC + 2 years apprentice in same trades

T1625008 – Housekeeping / Catering & Hospitality

• SSC with Science + ITI in Housekeeping/Catering
  OR

• SSC + 2 years apprentice
  OR

• SSC + 3 years hospitality experience

T1625009 – Food Science / Food Processing

• SSC with Science + ITI in Food Analysis/Processing/Quality Control
  OR

• SSC + 2 years apprentice
  OR

• SSC + 3 years experience in Food Technology areas

🧪 Selection Process

The selection will be done through:

1. Trade Test

(Only qualifying in nature; shortlisted candidates will proceed to written exam)

2. Written Examination — OMR/CBT (Objective Type MCQ)

Technical Assistant Exam Pattern

• Paper I: Mental Ability – 50 Q – 100 Marks

• Paper II: GA (25 Q, 75 Marks) + English (25 Q, 75 Marks)

• Paper III: Subject Paper – 100 Q – 300 Marks

• Total: 200 Questions, 450 Marks

Technician (1) Exam Pattern

• Paper I: Mental Ability – 50 Q – 100 Marks

• Paper II: GA (25 Q, 75 Marks) + English (25 Q, 75 Marks)

• Paper III: Subject Paper – 50 Q – 150 Marks

• Total: 150 Questions, 325 Marks
