The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026 is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to Undergraduate (UG) programmes offered by Central Universities and other participating State, Deemed, and Private Universities in India and abroad.
CUET UG 2026 will be conducted in May 2026 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, providing a single common opportunity to students seeking admission to multiple universities through one exam.

What is CUET UG 2026?
CUET UG is introduced to bring uniformity and fairness in UG admissions by reducing dependence on Class 12 board marks. Through CUET UG 2026, candidates can apply to multiple universities and courses using one score.

· Online Application Form: 03–30 January 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)
· Last Date of Fee Payment: 31 January 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)
· Correction Window: 02–04 February 2026
· Exam Dates: 11 to 31 May 2026 (Tentative)

Examination Scheme – CUET UG 2026
Mode of Examination
· Computer Based Test (CBT) only
· Conducted in multiple shifts depending on number of candidates
Medium of Examination
CUET UG 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages:
· English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu
(English version will be final in case of any discrepancy.)
Scheme of Examination
· Candidates can choose up to 5 subjects
· Subjects include:
o Language(s)
o Domain Subject(s)
o General Aptitude Test
· Each subject is tested separately
Pattern of Question Paper
· Questions Type: Objective (MCQs)
· Questions per subject: 50 (all compulsory)
· Duration: 60 minutes per subject
· Marking Scheme:
o Correct Answer: +5 marks
o Wrong Answer: –1 mark
o Unattempted: 0 mark

Eligibility for CUET UG 2026
· No age limit to appear in CUET UG 2026.
· Candidates who have passed Class 12 or are appearing in Class 12 in 2026 are eligible to apply.
· Admission eligibility (age, subjects, marks) will be decided by the respective universities, not by NTA.
Recognized Qualifying Examinations
Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from:
· CBSE / ISC or any recognized State Board
· NIOS (with minimum 5 subjects)
· Two-year Pre-University / Intermediate examination
· Vocational Higher Secondary examination
· 3-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board
· International qualifications (IB, Cambridge, GCE A-Level) recognized by UGC/AIU
Candidates who passed Class 12 from foreign boards or unlisted boards must produce an equivalence certificate from UGC.

· Reservation and relaxation will be as per university policy.

How to Apply for CUET UG 2026 – Step-by-Step
Step 1: Registration
· Register online
· Create password and security question
· Note system-generated Application Number
Step 2: Fill Application Form
· Login using Application Number & Password
· Enter details
· Select universities, courses, and subjects
· Upload scanned documents:
o Photograph (JPG/JPEG, 10–200 KB, white background)
o Signature (JPG/JPEG, 10–50 KB)
o Identity proof (if required)
o PwD/UDID certificate (PDF, 50–300 KB, if applicable)
⚠️ Upload only your own documents. No correction will be allowed later.
Step 3: Pay Application Fee
· Payment via Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI / Net Banking
· Download Confirmation Page after successful payment
Password Guidelines (Important)
· Length: 8–13 characters
· Must include:
o Uppercase letter
o Lowercase letter
o Number
o Special character

· NTA releases answer key & result
· Scores are normalised
· No central counselling
· Each university conducts its own counselling, which may include:
o Registration
o Merit list / cut-off

o Seat allotment

· Final round for vacant seats

· Usually lower cut-off
· Mainly for candidates without seat allotment
