Short Information : The Indian Army has officially released the Sports Quota Recruitment 2025 for outstanding sportspersons under Intake 05/2025. Eligible unmarried Indian male and female candidates can apply offline for the posts of Direct Entry Havildar (Sports) and Naib Subedar (Sports). The last date to submit the application form is 15th December 2025 (1700 hours).

Vacancies will depend on the organization’s requirements in various sports disciplines.
Sports Disciplines Include:
Athletics, Archery, Basketball, Boxing, Diving, Football, Fencing, Gymnastics, Hockey, Handball, Judo, Kayaking & Canoeing, Kabaddi, Karate, Rowing, Swimming, Sailing, Shooting, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Wushu, Weightlifting, Wrestling.
(Candidates with exceptional talent in other recognized sports events may also apply.)
Eligibility Criteria 2025
Age Limit
- Born between: 31 March 2001 – 01 April 2008
- Age Range: 17½ to 25 years
Educational Qualification
- Minimum: Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board
Sports Achievement
Direct Entry Havildar:
- Medalist at Junior/Senior level representing State in National Championship
- Represented Country at International level (individual events)
- Medalist in Khelo India Games / Youth Games / University Games
Direct Entry Naib Subedar:
- Medalist in World Championship / Asian Championship / Asian Games / Commonwealth Games / World Cup
- Represented India twice in Asian Games / Commonwealth Games / World Cup
- Represented India in the Olympics
Selection Process
1. Shortlisting – Based on sports achievements and application merit
2. Call-up Letter – Eligible candidates receive it via email
3. Selection Trials:
o Physical Fitness Test:
§ Men: 1.6 km run, 9-ft ditch, zig-zag balance
§ Women: 1.6 km run, 10-ft long jump, 3-ft high jump
o Skill Test in respective sports discipline
o Medical Examination at trial site by Army Medical Team
4. Final Selection: Merit-based according to vacancies in respective sports
Salary & Benefits
- Pay and allowances as per 7th CPC for Regular Army Personnel
- Pension, insurance cover, and post-retirement benefits such as ESM status and ECHS facilities
