Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification & Experience
Candidates must be practicing advocates with the following minimum experience:
- Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
Minimum 10 years of criminal law practice in Sessions Court / High Court
- Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
Minimum 7 years of criminal law practice
- Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
Minimum 0–3 years of criminal law practice
Ø Must be enrolled with the Bar Council
Ø Experience certificate required
Ø No private practice allowed after selection
