The Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior, a premier laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has released an official notification for the selection of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) through Walk-in-Interview.
This recruitment is for JRFs already holding fellowship from UGC / CSIR / ICMR / DBT or similar agencies and is intended for defence-related research projects at DRDE, Gwalior.

Posts & Vacancy Overview
Recruitment is being conducted for the following Junior Research Fellow (JRF) categories:
· Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Chemistry
· Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Biological Sciences
Number of fellowships is not fixed and may vary as per organisational requirement.
Eligibility Criteria
For JRF – Chemistry
· First Class M.Sc. in Chemistry
(Physical / Analytical / Organic / Inorganic)
· Must be a JRF fellowship holder from UGC / CSIR / ICMR / DBT
For JRF – Biological Sciences
· First Class M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Zoology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Microbiology / Pharmacology / Toxicology / Immunology
· Must be a JRF fellowship holder from UGC / CSIR / ICMR / DBT
📌 Only candidates who have already been awarded their degree or provisional certificate are eligible.
Age Limit
· Maximum Age: 28 Years
· Age Relaxation:
o SC/ST – 5 Years
o OBC – 3 Years
o As per DRDO/CSIR rules for other categories
Age and qualification will be calculated as on the date of interview.
Fellowship & Tenure
· Monthly Stipend & Allowances: As per CSIR-UGC-NET guidelines
· Tenure:
o Initially 2 years as JRF
o Extendable to SRF for remaining 3 years based on performance
· Selected candidates may be permitted to register for Ph.D. during the fellowship tenure

Selection Process
· Selection will be through Walk-in-Interview
· Written test / assignment may be conducted if required
· Final selection based on interview performance and eligibility verification
Documents Required at Interview
Candidates must bring:
· Duly filled Application Form (in prescribed format)
· Recent passport-size photograph
· Original & self-attested copies of:
o Educational certificates & mark sheets
o Fellowship award letter (UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT)
o Age proof
o Caste certificate (if applicable)
o NOC (for candidates working in Govt./PSU/Autonomous bodies)

Important Instructions
· No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or joining
· Fellowship does NOT guarantee absorption in DRDO
· Incomplete applications will be rejected
· Antecedents of selected candidates will be verified at the time of joining
· Interview may extend to the next day if large numbers of candidates appear

No. This is a fellowship-based research position and does not guarantee DRDO absorption.
Q2. Can candidates without UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT fellowship apply?
No. Only candidates who already hold an approved fellowship are eligible.
