Short Information : Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has officially released the Jammu & Kashmir Police Constable Recruitment 2026 notification on 31st December 2025. A total of 669 vacancies have been announced for various posts including Armed/IRP, SDRF, Telecommunication, and Photographer. Eligible candidates who are domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir can apply online from 1st February 2026 to 2nd March 2026 at the official website: www.jkssb.nic.in.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Constable (Armed/IRP & SDRF): Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board
• Constable (Telecommunication): 10+2 with Science
• Constable (Photographer): 10+2 (Science) + 6 months computer course + 2 years experience in videography/photography

Age Limit

• General: 18 to 28 years (as of 01.01.2026)
• In-Service Police Personnel: 18 to 30 years
• SPOs/VHGs: 18 to 40 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per rules

Domicile Requirement: Must be a J&K Domicile with valid certificate before 02.03.2026

Selection Process

1.    Written Examination: Objective MCQs with negative marking (¼ mark deduction per wrong answer). Bonus marks for NCC certificate holders

2.    Physical Standard Test (PST): Height & Chest measurement

3.    Physical Endurance Test (PET): Long race, push-ups/shot put. Relaxed standards for Ex-Servicemen

4.    Document Verification: Verification of original certificates

5.    Medical Examination: Final medical assessment

Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200), along with Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other perks as per J&K Government rules.
