UPSC IFS Notification 2026 Out – Apply Online for Indian Forest Service
Short Information : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the UPSC Indian Forest Service (IFS) Notification 2026 on 4th February 2026. Around 80 vacancies have been announced for the prestigious Indian Forest Service. Eligible candidates can submit the UPSC IFS Online Application 2026 from 4th February to 24th February 2026 through the official portal https://upsconline.nic.in.
Candidates must appear in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026, which will act as the screening test for the IFS Main Examination. The UPSC Prelims 2026 is scheduled for 24th May 2026.

UPSC IFS Eligibility Criteria 2026
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026)
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 32 years
- Born between 02.08.1994 – 01.08.2005
Relaxation:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- PwBD – 10 years
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree with at least one subject:
- Botany / Zoology / Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics / Statistics
- Geology / Veterinary Science
- Agriculture / Forestry / Engineering
Final year candidates can also apply.

- CSAT Paper-II – 200 Marks

3. Interview – 300 Marks
Final Merit = Mains + Interview
UPSC IFS Salary 2026
- Pay Level: Level-10
- Basic Pay: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
- Allowances: DA, HRA, TA, Medical
- Promotion up to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests
