Apply Offline for Accountant, System Operator & Teaching Engagements (Computer Science) Posts

Short Information:

Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), Guwahati, a State University under the Government of Assam, established by the Assam Science and Technology University Act, 2009, has released multiple recruitment advertisements for non-teaching and teaching positions.
Eligible Indian citizens are invited to apply offline for the following posts — Accountant (Advt. No. 04/2025), System Operator (Advt. No. 03/2025), and Teaching Engagements for Computer Science and related subjects (Advt. No. 05/2025).

All posts are based at the University campus in Jalukbari, Guwahati.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Accountant (Advt. No. 04/2025)

• Qualification: Graduate in Commerce (Accounting specialization) with at least 50% marks.

• Skills: Proficiency in Tally, MS Office, Excel, PageMaker, ERP, etc.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in accounting and record-keeping in a higher education institution.

• Desirable: Knowledge of PFMS.

• Age Limit: 18–40 years as on 01.01.2025 (Relaxation as per Govt. of Assam norms).

• Selection Process: Written Test (English, Accountancy, GK, Reasoning) followed by Skill Test.

2. System Operator (Advt. No. 03/2025)

• Qualification: Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering from AICTE/State Council-recognized institution.

• Experience: Must have exposure to both hardware and software; responsible for maintaining university systems, LAN, internet, and website.

• Age Limit: 18–40 years as on 01.01.2025 (Relaxation applicable).

• Selection Process: Written Test (English, Computer, GK, Reasoning) followed by Computer Skill Test.

3. Teaching Engagements (Advt. No. 05/2025)

• Qualification: As per latest UGC/AICTE norms for University Faculty positions in Computer Science and Engineering.

• Experience: Teaching/Research experience preferred. Retired professors may also apply.

• Duration: One semester (extendable up to 11 months).

• Remuneration: ₹25,000 – ₹60,000 per month (Consolidated).

• Preferred Specializations:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Data Science & Analytics

  • Cyber Security

  • Machine Learning (ML)

  • Internet of Things (IoT)

• Selection Process: Interview based on merit and specialization.

4. Select payment category:

   • Application Fee for Recruitment (1000) – General/OBC

   • Application Fee for Recruitment (SC/ST) (500) – SC/ST Candidates

5. Fill details, make payment, and attach the receipt with the application.

How to Apply

1. Download the prescribed application form from www.astu.ac.in.

2. Fill in the form and attach:

   • Self-attested copies of educational & experience certificates

   • Age proof (HSLC Admit Card/Pass Certificate)

   • Two passport-size photos

   • Two self-addressed envelopes

   • Online payment receipt (if applicable)

3. Superscribe the envelope with the relevant advertisement and post code (e.g., “Application for the post of Accountant (AC/01/2025)”).

4. Send the application to:

General Instructions

• Only one application per post is allowed.

• Candidates must be registered with any Employment Exchange of Assam.

• Applications submitted after 27 November 2025 or incomplete will not be considered.

• Employed candidates must produce an NOC from their employer during verification/interview.

• The University reserves the right to modify, withdraw, or cancel any post without notice.

• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.

• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in tests/interviews.

• All disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of Guwahati, Assam.
