The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has released Advt. No. 27/2025-26 for the recruitment of 323 State Tax Inspectors, Class-III. The online application process will be open from 03 October 2025 to 17 October 2025 on the official GPSC OJAS portal.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent (UGC Act 1956).

• Final-year candidates may apply but must submit proof before Mains Exam.

• Basic knowledge of Computer Applications.

• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, or both.

Age Limit (as on 17 Oct 2025):   Age Calculator

• Maximum: 35 years

• Relaxations:

  • OBC/SC/ST/EWS (Gujarat origin): +5 years (max 45 yrs)

  • Women (OBC/SC/ST/EWS): +10 years (including above)

  • General Category Women: +5 years

  • PwD: +10 years (max 45 yrs)

  • Ex-Servicemen: Military service period + 3 years (max age as per rules)

  • Govt. Employees: No age relaxation

💰 Pay Scale

• ₹49,600/- fixed for 5 years

• After completion: ₹39,900 – ₹1,26,600 (Level-7, 7th CPC Pay Matrix)

💳 Application Fee

• General/Unreserved: ₹100 + postal/online charges

• SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/PwD/Ex-Servicemen: No Fee

Payment via Post Office challan or Online (OJAS).

🛠️ Selection Process

1. Preliminary Examination (200 marks, objective, 2 hours, OMR sheet, negative marking: –0.3 per wrong answer).

2. Mains Examination (4 papers – Gujarati, English, General Studies-1, General Studies-2, each 100 marks, 3 hours).

   • Gujarati & English papers: 12th Std. level.

   • General Studies papers: Graduate level.

🟦 Preliminary Examination (Objective)

• Graduate level syllabus

• OMR-based test

• Negative marking: –0.3 for each wrong answer

• Option “E – Not Attempted” = 0 mark (no negative)

🟩 Main Examination (Descriptive)

• Gujarati & English papers: Std. 12th level

• General Studies papers: Graduate level

• Total: 400 Marks

• Final merit list based on Mains only

📝 How to Apply

2. Apply online between 03 Oct 2025 (13:00 hrs) and 17 Oct 2025 (23:59 hrs).

3. Fill personal, academic, and other details.

4. Upload scanned documents (degree certificate, age proof, caste/PwD certificate, etc.).

5. Pay application fee (if applicable).

6. Take printout of application form for future reference.

⚠️ Only candidates submitting CONSENT FORM + CONSENT DEPOSIT will receive Admit Card for Prelims.
