Bose Institute Faculty Eligibility Criteria
Assistant Professor
- Ph.D. in Basic or Applied Science / Technology
- Consistently good academic record
- Experience (any one):
- Minimum 3 years of R&D / academic / industrial experience
- OR minimum 3 years research experience in Science & Technology / Industry
- OR minimum 4 years regular service in Pay Level 11 (7th CPC)
- Publications of commendable merit
- Experience counted after Ph.D. thesis defense
Associate Professor
- Ph.D. in Basic or Applied Science / Technology
- Minimum 8 years of research/professional experience (excluding Ph.D.)
- At least 4 years at Pay Level 12 (7th CPC)
OR
- 8 years regular service at Pay Level 11 or equivalent
- Strong publication record in frontier research areas
Professor
- Ph.D. in Basic or Applied Science / Technology
- Experience (any one):
- Minimum 16 years of R&D experience in Academia / Industry / S&T organizations
- OR minimum 12 years experience (excluding Ph.D.) with at least 5 years at Pay Level 13
- Proven leadership in research
- Supervision of Ph.D. scholars
- Receipt of external research grants
- Laboratory/course/technology development and/or patents
Post-wise Vacancy & Pay Scale
1. Assistant Professor
- Pay Level: Level 12 (7th CPC)
- Vacancies: 5
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years
- Probation Period: 1 year
2. Associate Professor
- Pay Level: Level 13 (7th CPC)
- Age Limit: As per Government of India norms
3. Professor
- Pay Level: Level 14 (7th CPC)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 50 years

Roles & Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be expected to:
- Develop and lead independent research programs
- Participate in existing basic and applied research projects
- Supervise Ph.D. scholars and mentor postdoctoral fellows
- Secure extramural research funding
- Contribute to teaching, training, and academic activities
- Promote collaboration, innovation, and research excellence
- Undertake institutional and organizational responsibilities
Associate Professor & Professor candidates must provide leadership at national and international levels.
