Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) Recruitment 2025 – Project/Trainee Posts

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), TIFR, Mumbai invites applications for multiple Project and Trainee positions at its Mankhurd campus. These positions are temporary, project/trainee-based, and candidates will contribute to science and mathematics education research, educational content development, technical services, and support functions across HBCSE programmes.

Eligible candidates may attend walk-in selections on specified dates with required documents.

1. Vigyan Pratibha Project – Project Scientific Officer – B (UR, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 84,200/- per month (inclusive of HRA Rs. 12,852/-)

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Walk-in Selection: 10th November 2025, 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM

• Essential Qualifications:

  • M.Sc./M.S. (Science/Mathematics) or B.E./B.Tech. in any branch, minimum 60% marks or equivalent

  • 2 years’ experience in educational content development, teaching, research, or related projects

• Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching, scientific writing, educational activity development

  • Proficiency in English and regional languages

  • Familiarity with website management and data handling

• Job Description: Develop learning units in science and mathematics, field testing in schools, teacher professional development, documentation, and report writing

2. Vigyan Pratibha Project – Project Scientific Assistant – B (EWS, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 63,900/- per month (inclusive of HRA Rs. 9,558/-)

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR & EWS)

• Walk-in Selection: 7th November 2025, 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM

• Essential Qualifications: B.Sc./B.S. in Science or Mathematics, 0–2 years’ experience, basic computer knowledge

• Desirable Qualifications: M.Sc. preferred; experience in teaching, content development, Excel, and REDCap

• Job Description: Support project implementation in schools, online and in-person interactions, data collection, follow-up with teachers, and report writing

3. Mathematics Education Research Programme – Project Scientific Assistant – B (OBC, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 63,900/- per month (inclusive of HRA Rs. 9,558/-)

• Age Limit: 31 years (OBC)

• Walk-in Selection: 29th October 2025, 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM

• Essential Qualifications: Graduate in Mathematics, 1-year relevant experience, computer knowledge

• Desirable Qualifications: M.Sc. in Mathematics or B.Ed., experience in teaching or ground-level education projects

• Job Description: Assist in organizing educational activities, data collection, analysis, report writing, and teaching workshops

4. Physics Olympiad Laboratory Programme – Project Scientific Assistant – B (UR, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 63,900/- per month (inclusive of HRA Rs. 9,558/-)

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Essential Qualifications: B.Sc./B.S. in Physics/Electronics/Instrumentation or equivalent, 0–2 years’ experience

• Desirable Qualifications: M.Sc./Integrated M.Sc., teaching/research experience, interest in physics education

• Job Description: Design and guide experiments, mentor undergraduate projects, prepare manuals, support physics education research

5. Accounts Section – Project Assistant (UR, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 41,100/- per month (inclusive of HRA Rs. 5,859/-)

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Walk-in Selection: 6th November 2025, 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM

• Essential Qualifications: Graduate, typing and computer skills, 1-year clerical/accounts experience

• Desirable Qualifications: Commerce graduate, experience with accounting software

• Job Description: Manage accounts, bill entries, bank reconciliation, taxation, registers, and other accounting-related tasks

6. National Coordinator’s Office – Project Assistant (UR, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 41,100/- per month (inclusive of HRA Rs. 5,859/-)

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Walk-in Selection: 31st October 2025, 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM

• Essential Qualifications: Graduate with typing and computer skills; 1-year clerical experience

• Desirable Qualifications: MS Office/Linux knowledge, presentation design skills

• Job Description: Administrative support, managing workshops, correspondence, and other assigned tasks

7. Library Section – Project Work Assistant (UR, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 32,300/- per month (inclusive of HRA Rs. 5,400/-)

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Essential Qualifications: SSC or equivalent, 1-year experience in clerical or office work

• Desirable Qualifications: Library course or experience in library operations

• Job Description: Routine library support, shelving, circulation, accessioning, and other tasks

8. Computer Facility – Engineer Trainee (IT, UR, 2 Posts)

• Salary: Rs. 35,000/- per month

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Walk-in Selection: 3rd November 2025, 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM

• Essential Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech. in CS/Electronics/IT; freshers can apply

• Desirable Qualifications: Basic hardware, networking, OS management, web development, scripting

• Job Description: Assist in IT administration, web development, network support, inventory, and documentation

9. Technical Services – Electrical Trainee (UR, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 23,000/- per month

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Essential Qualifications: Diploma in Electrical Engineering

• Job Description: Electrical maintenance, HT/LT panels, fault repairs, on-site support, shift duties

10. Technical Services – Civil Trainee (UR, 2 Posts)

• Age Limit: 28 years (UR)

• Essential Qualifications: Diploma in Civil Engineering

• Desirable Qualifications: Computer/AutoCAD/MS Office knowledge

11. Library Section – Library Trainee (UR, 1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 22,000/- per month

• Essential Qualifications: Graduate with B.Lib.

• Desirable Qualifications: M.Lib., knowledge of KOHA and DSpace

• Posts are temporary (1 year), extendable based on performance and requirement

• OBC candidates must submit Non-Creamy Layer Certificate; EWS candidates must submit EWS certificate
