Central Teacher Eligibility Test (21st Edition) | Exam on 8th February 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the public notice for the 21st Edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) scheduled to be held on 08th February 2026 (Sunday). The CTET 2026 exam will be conducted in 20 languages across 132 cities throughout India.

The CTET is a national-level eligibility test for aspiring teachers who wish to teach in Central Government Schools such as KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, and other schools under the administrative control of UTs and States.

For Paper I (Primary Stage: Classes I–V)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year D.El.Ed (as per NCTE Regulations 2002).
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
    OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

For Paper II (Elementary Stage: Classes VI–VIII)

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in 2-year D.El.Ed.
    OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.
    OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed (as per NCTE norms).

STEP 2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
STEP 4: Upload latest Scanned Photograph and Signature
STEP 5: Pay Examination Fee by debit/credit card and net banking.
STEP 6: Print Confirmation page for record and future reference.

Ans: The CTET 2026 exam will be conducted on 08th February 2026 (Sunday) in offline mode.

Ans: There is no upper age limit. The minimum age for application is 17 years.

Ans: Yes, candidates eligible for both stages can appear for both papers by paying the combined exam fee.

Ans: The CTET certificate is valid for a lifetime.

Ans: There is no restriction on the number of attempts. You can appear multiple times to improve your score.

Q11. What are the passing marks for CTET 2026?
Ans: General candidates must score 60% (90 marks), while SC/ST/OBC/PwBD need 55% (82 marks).

Q12. When will the CTET 2026 admit card be released?
Ans: The admit card is expected to be released in January 2026.

Q13. Which languages are available for CTET 2026?
