CSIR-NIO Kochi Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Walk-In Interview for Diploma & Graduate Trainees

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), Regional Centre Kochi, has released an official notification inviting eligible Diploma and Graduate (Non-Engineering) candidates to attend a Walk-In Interview for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.

This apprenticeship opportunity is purely training-based and is intended to provide hands-on experience in scientific, technical, and administrative domains.

🔔 Important Dates

·         Walk-In Interview Date: 22 January 2026 (Thursday)

·         Reporting Time: 09:00 AM

·         Notification Date: 07 January 2026

📌 No candidate will be allowed after 10:00 AM.

🎓 Educational Qualification

Technician (Diploma) Apprentice

·         Full-time 3-year Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline

·         Diploma must be issued by a recognized State Board / University

Graduate (Non-Engineering) Apprentice

·         Full-time Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University

·         Science discipline required for Oceanography trade

🎯 Eligibility Conditions

·         Year of passing: 2022 / 2023 / 2024 / 2025 only

·         Candidates must be registered on NATS portal

·         Candidates must NOT have:

o    Undergone apprenticeship earlier (CSIR or elsewhere)

o    More than 1 year of job experience

·         Distance / part-time / private diplomas are not accepted

🎂 Age Limit (as on 22.01.2026)

🔹 Age Relaxation:

·         SC/ST: +5 Years

·         OBC (NCL): +3 Years

·         PwBD: up to 10–15 Years (as applicable)

·         Ex-Servicemen: As per GoI rules

Reservation

Reservation for SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / EWS / PwBD will be followed as per Apprenticeship Act guidelines.
Valid category certificates in GoI prescribed format are mandatory.

📝 Documents Required at Interview

Candidates must bring:

·         Duly filled Application Form

·         NATS Enrollment Number

·         Original & self-attested copies of:

o    Educational Certificates & Mark Sheets

o    Date of Birth proof (SSLC/HSC)

o    Aadhaar Card

o    Caste / Category Certificate (if applicable)

·         One Passport-size Photograph

📌 Incomplete documents will lead to rejection.

·         Hostel accommodation will not be provided

·         Apprenticeship does not guarantee employment

·         Apprentices will receive National Apprenticeship Certificate after completion
